Celebrating Parent’s Day
We are accustomed to celebrating Mom on Mother’s Day and Dad on Father’s Day, but did you know there is a day that celebrates both parents? Parent’s Day is celebrated the fourth Sunday in July of every year. The day was established in 1994 by Congress as a way to recognize parents for all that they do. We have a few ideas on how you can celebrate this special day.
Make a memory book. Put all of your special family pictures together and make a book to remember all those moments.
Have a family breakfast. Consider going out for breakfast or brunch and let someone else do the cooking.
Thank your parents. If they live nearby, you can pay them a visit, or give them a call if they are far away. You can also take time to think about any special memories you have of your parents and the impact they have had on you.
Have a family outing. Garner some quality family time together. You can take a day trip to explore a new location nearby, or just go to a local park and have a picnic.
