Simple Toy Storage Tips
Tackling the ever-mounting pile of toys strewn about the house can seem like an insurmountable task. Just when you think you have your child’s toys organized, they appear thrown in places like underneath your refrigerator or in your shoe bin. While children’s endless curiosity can’t (and shouldn’t) be contained, there are a few simple steps you can take to try and tame the toy mountain and shape your house into a bit more of an organized toy haven.
- Invest in multi-purpose furniture items. Look for pieces with built-in storage such as coffee tables, ottomans, stools or even shelves that can double as a console that you can decorate. You can even look for beds with built-in storage at the base.
- Use up your wall space. Shelves and hooks can be used to hang or store items while freeing up some floor space for other uses.
- Just my size. Use lower-standing shelves to store frequently used items for easier access by your child.
- Coordination is key. Try to use storage containers that match with each other to increase the clutter-free look.
Happy organizing!
